FAQ

What is ReadCast?

ReadCast is a paid service that enables you to convert articles from the web and converts it to audio that can be consumed in your favourite podcast player.

Do you have any browser extensions?

Yes, we have browser extensions for both Google Chrome and FirefoxFirefox. All you need to do is download them and click the ReadCast button to save a new article.

How do I save via email?

Sometimes you might get an email newsletter or have an article from a subscription newspaper. The easiest way to save them to ReadCast is by saving them via email.

  1. Create a new email, addressed to [email protected]
  2. Set the subject of the email to either the title of the article or the URL of the article. This helps us find the article on the web.
  3. Set the content of the article to everything you want ReadCast to say. Make sure to remove any email signatures you don't want to be read out.
  4. Send the email.

One thing to watch out for is that you send the email from the same email address that your ReadCast account is registered with.

What are subscriptions?

Subscriptions allow you to automate the task of saving articles to ReadCast.

For example, if you often read articles from a set of common blogs, you can setup subscriptions for each of those using their RSS feeds then every time they publish a new article, it will be automatically processed by ReadCast and added to your podcast.

Currently, we support these subscriptions:

  • Pocket
  • RSS
  • Medium

Do you support translation?

At the moment, we don't support translation but it's for sure something on our roadmap for the future.
